Is there any significant damage done to the ar15 by not easing springs (firing the action to release the spring tension) after use?
The reason i ask is im in the process of designing a training program, in the past some of our unauthorised discharges with the glock have been as a result of personnel doing this process .ie we dont do this with the Glock, however i am aware that the ar15 spring is under more tension than the glock.
Thoughts/ ideas??

Springs wear from repeated cycling, not static tension.
