What is the difference between the 6920 and matchtarget m4 other than mags, flashhider, and fixed stock, they look like the same gun. Whats exactly better in the LE guns?  Parts,pins are they better quality.

the MT M4 is a ban version of the 6920... the differences are:

compensator vs A2 FH;
no bayo lug vs bayo lug;
fixed vs working collapsible stock.

pins and quality are the same AFAIK... both have a M4 barrel profile CL 1/7.

6920 does not have sear block and it has a full auto bolt carrier.

6920 does not have sear block

Neither does the MT6400C. They both have a "bridge" of aluminum where the auto sear pin would go, but the Colt sear block of old is long gone.

Reason I ask is a local dealer has a 6920 LEC for $1250, a 6721 a3tac for $1160 and a match target m4 for $950. All are new. What is the best buy. And  why is the 6920 so much more sought after than the mt m4 if they are the same other than a stock and flashhider. What is the best buy of the three. Will the LE guns hold value better.

Probably depends on which setup is most appealing to you, but if you are going to want to add a flash hider and collapsible stock to the ban era rifle, I would just buy the 6920 or 6721 already set up that way.

Funny how the ban compliant version is somehow $300 cheaper than the same gun with minor alterations.

Those bayonet lugs must be spendy!

i paid $850 for my MT6400C during the ban...

MT6400C = $950
Collapsible Stock assembly = $100
thread barrel and add A2 hider = $50
$1100

still cheaper than either of the other models

Perception matters.

The MT6400C is a good rifle, but the "ban" stigma effects the resale value.

The muzzle on the MT6400C is not threaded.  This means you are pretty much stuck with the compensator that is on the barrel, unless you want to pay to have it threaded.  I put bayonet mounts in the same category as hood ornaments, but that is me.  I don't own a bayonet for any of my rifles.  Then again, I don't have much of a war face either.

The fixed stock, however, can be an issue.  You can remove the fixed stock on the MT6400C, but to replace it with colt parts is going to cost you a good deal of $$.  To the tune of at least $200, probably more.

Bottom line is I would go with the LE rifles at this point.  Even if you change over the parts using Colt parts on the MT6400C, the market would not value it as high as the LE rifles are.  It would be a "parts" gun in the minds of many potential buyers.

Finally, the weight on the MT6400C seems noticeably more than the LE6920.  The fixed stock on the MT6400C probably has something to do with it (or I need to have my arms recalibrated).

I own both, incidentally.

Enjoy!

here's my MT6400C...

it's just as EVIL as the LE6920... in fact it may be slightly more evil since i can actually use a bayonet on the 14.5" barrel...
