Had a Rifle Carbine match. Used a BETA C-Mag. Round jammed (double fed) and could not get the C-Mag to eject. After two people tried to get it out with no luck, I was finally able to get it unstuck after continously beating the mag against a wooden pole. Cleared the double feed, put the C-Mag away in the pouch, used 30- Round US GI mags to finish the match. Lost the match of course, but in a SHTF scenario, would have probably lost much more.

Sold the BETA C-Mag and never looked back.

I have never heard of a Beta-C jamming, the above statements are rare it would seem. I've never experience one jam in a couple thousand rounds. The only gripe is that the bolt will not lock back on the last round. (this is how they are designed)

And yes, a hundred rounds is heavier but the extra wieght actually has some utility by reducing muzzle rise.

Uhh yeah......Whats wrong with that?

For full auto work, they are fun and in my experience troublefree. Semi auto, I do not know that the extra weight would offset the added rouns available. If you are buying it for shits and giggles, have fun, but if you are wanting to use it on a serious use gun I would avoid them.

I have used a Beta for sometimes now, it is one of the fastest way to burn up a good barrel. I love the drum but do not use it other then good ole range blasting.

here is a clip of the Beta in action.

There are various Beta mags out there.  Obviously you are talking about the 5.56 caliber but I just wanted to post some pics of a 9mm version in action .   From what I have seen personally with the 5.56 version (and read on the board) the doublefeed seems to be the primary issue (when there is an issue).  Great for the range, just not comfortable putting any true importance in it

That's what I am curious about, yeah almost everything is fun at the range but spending $250 on something that may fail you when you need it the most isn't good. I bet thought that one of those things straped to an AR is the last thing anyone wants to see coming at them.

Dont have one or a full auto rifle but this is my thinking.

1 Beta c mag
$230
100 rnds

22 standard 30 rnd mags
about $230 @ 44mag.com
660 rnds

which is more practical

I never thought I'd need one for 3-gun until the rollercoaster at the SMM3G match... now I am giving it serious thought. Still wouldn't bet my life on one though.

Mine's been reliable.

Heavy, they rattle, and the bolt doesn't lock back after the last round, though. (I make sure the last couple rounds are tracers, so I know when I'm about to run dry.)
