So this is what happens when it's raining out and I start getting antsy... I was checking out the KAC PDW and decided - hey! I've got a crusty spare vfg, and it's no match for the bench grinder... ![]() I have started to practice a much higher hold on the vfg, so the extra material isn't needed. 5/8" got cut from the grip and core. ![]() Compared to original size...core is now 2 pieces, but it's not going anywhere... ![]() Quick shot of the pile. ![]() Yes, a good chunk of the threads were removed, but c'mon - I'm not going to source a huge tap to rethread the grip! I'll run it a bit tomorrow and see if the o-ring needs to be refitted, but it seems to snug up as good as before. There are probably better ways to do this, but I'm just having fun in the shop. Now if it wouldn't cost $200 to to the same to the barrel... |
