With my geissele DMR trigger, there are 3 pins, 2 have two grooves, and one has two, plus a smaller third groove.  Which ones go where?

The 3 groove is slightly larger that the 2 groove and is for the hammer.  Use it only if your receiver has a hammer pin hole that is worn or slighty oversized.

To check take a 2 groove pin and try to push it into the hammer pin holes by hand (no hammer installed).  If the 2 groove can be pushed in by hand use the 3 groove.  The right fit is a slight interference fit where the pin must be tapped in by hand.

so both 2 groove pins should be used in a new lower for both the hammer and trigger?

It depends on your lower.  Some are running pretty large these days.

Back in 2004 new Bushys were averaging 0.1554 dia
Armalites very small: 0.1550

Currently Bushys and RRAs are running 0.1560 - 0.1562 which will need the 3 groove pin.
