How much benifit do you think is gained if any, using a more solid upper like a thickwall or billet vs. a standard milspec flattop in the accurracy dept Thanks TB |

I think it comes into play more for other issues. Bolts have snapped in combat due to stresses placed on weapons and their uppers, which was the original concept behind a reinforced upper as far as I have been told. This isn't a stand alone argument, and rails w/VFG are a part of the bigger picture. As far as accuracy, its minimal at best (if at all). Notice that while there is a lot of talk about it, there are no tests to support it. A well built upper will do quite nicely regardless of whether its billet or forged. After all that I will say that a well built billet certainly isn't going to make accuracy any worse. |
