Well, I've taken the plunge and ordered an A1/C7 style upper receiver for a build. The barrel I am going to use is a Bushmaster SL 1:7 with the A2 front sight. I know that the A1 sight post is round and wider than the A2, but there shouldn't be any problem mixing the A2 FSP with the A1 upper as far as zeroing issues, right?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Was this one such a "Duh!" that it didn't even deserve an answer?

When I first joined the Guard, the broke unit I was in was still using A1's.  Some of them still had the A1 front sight post, some had the A2 post.  There was never any problem zeroing them that I could see.

I am assembling 2 just like yours.  One with a Bushmaster A2 20" Gov't and the other with FNMI M16A2 20" barrel.  I am not concerned at all with post widths.  I am ASSUMING that the FSB height is compatible.  If my bolts and carriers ever got here I would have the answer for you.

Thanks guys.

I'm guessing that the A1 FSP is the same height as the A2 FSP, but I didn't know for sure. If they are the same, I shouldn't have any problems...
