I am looking to buy my first colt and have a couple questions, I am looking for as close to a gov issue 20" a2 upper rifle as possible what is the designation and where can i find one? i own other ars but want a replica m-16 style on this one. wont get optics ect. I want at least one that is as plain as I can get it. I just realized that in the 4yrs I have been shooting I NEVER used Iron sights except to sight them in before mounting optics thanks for any help in advance -Mike |
cherished as in "expect to be severely gouged to buy one" or will they be close to in line with the other colts price wise... are these still made or are they mostly used rifles? thanks -Mike |
You're going to pay more for that pony on the side no matter what model you buy. So yeah, mostly in line with the rest of Colts pricing just harder to find. |

Unfortunately, expect to pay a higher price for stallion on the receiver. Also, keep in mind these will be used or old (if NIB) Colt rifles becasue Colt does not make a current version of either for civilian or even LE. The only one close that is available is the neutered 6601 HBAR. Other options available are Bushmaster (special order), CMMG, or Sabre Defence (special order) with a true A2 20" 1/7 chrome lined gov't profile barrel. I have the Sabre myself and it's top notch! Gunbroker.com for the MT6601 or 6601C, there are no 6550 or 6551 now and have not seen any for some time. GTD
