[ARCHIVED THREAD] - FSB decode help

I'm considering purchasing an upper off the EE. It is an M4 profile 14.5". Seller states barrel marked " 5.56 NATO 1/9" and the FSB is marked L3I1. Any ideas who the manufacturer is. Aren't 14.5's supposed to have F marked bases?

14.5s don't necessarily have the F front sight base. And I don't think every F front sight base is marked as such.

It's hard to say what you're going to get. And I'm not sure what the markings on the FSB indicate. Maybe someone here could decode it for you.

I have 2 M4`s that have the proper FSB but no F markings

Both are LMT

it does have a # 1 on one and #2 on the other
