Probably easier to just buy a whole new buffer.

Why would you take one apart anyway?

Why?

Don’t you take the buffer apart to lube the weights?

I just need to clarify that he's joking here.
DON'T lube the weights.
The oil will cause a hydraulic seal between the weights and the buffer body.
The buffer will lose some of it's effectiveness.

I think grease would work the best. I’m currently drawing up plans to modify a rifle length buffer with a grease zerk.

Well advertising and selling in the tech forums is not allowed, but I will be selling these shortly in the E n’ E.

Well I can’t go into too many details as of yet, due to the grease buffer being classified. That and the fact I’m working in conjunction with NSWC and Crane on the development.

A civilian version may be released after military testing. It will be offered to the military as a complete package to include the BGGA NSN5546-098-67-4431 or commonly known as the Buffer Grease Gun Assembly.

Because it's CHEAPER to make an H or H2 than purchase one......just stating the obvious

Laztjss.....I lucked out and found a "junk dealer" at a local gunshow who had a box of buffer weights (all types). He was not sure what he had......I picked them up for $5! Alas, they have since been used. Keep your eyes open, you'll find them.

You keep waiting there.
Nobody ever looks there.
It's hard enough to get them to even post their troubleshooting questions in the troubleshooting forum.
What makes you think they would go to the maintainance and cleaning forum?
