I've decided to build a tack driving match rifle. I realize that there is more that I don't know then what I do know. I have a Rock River Lower. I think I want a 20" barrel, free floating hand gaurd and flat top receiver. Any suggestions on the build would be appreciated. What barrel do I need, brands, ect..?  This would be a 300 yard rifle.

Ok, I just wanted to add something here. Sence accuracy is the object of this build, I think you should really consider the LaRue A3 or A4 Stealth Upper.

Are you implying that White Oak doesn't build an accurate upper?

What type of barrel and twist are you guys using? 1in 8, 1in9?
What type of loads do you use?

The 1x8 twist will shoot everything from 50-80 gr.
The 1x9 twist is better for the 45-69 Gr.
The 1x7 twist is better for 55-80+ Gr.

he's simply saying larue is more acurate than white oak. white oak is a very budget wise setup. but if money is no object there are better out there.

personaly I think Shilen and Lilja are tops. if you don't mind paying 4-$500 for a barrel alone that is.

Barrels by Krieger, Shilen, and Pac-Nor are budget?  From White Oak Precision's website:

We currently stock Shilen, Pac-Nor, and Krieger barrels for use on our uppers. These are all top quality, hand lapped barrels that will give you the accuracy needed to compete at the top levels of competition. We have several choices of chambers to suit your needs.

ETA - I'm well aware that LaRue builds an excellent product, but looking all throughout their website, I can't find where they source their barrels from.  Either one will most definitely outshoot the operator though.
