I just got a kit from Model 1 and I can't get the rear sight to adjust for elevation. It's like the detent is stuck, keeping the adjustment wheel from turning. I'm kinda new to ar's but I have 3 other ones with scopes. I checked them and the wheel turns OK by hand on them. Is there something I'm missing or is it likely something is wrong with this one. Is there an exploded view o fthe rear sight assembly somewhere on here? Thanks in advance for your help.

Call m1s and let them know you need to return an item.

Try squirting CLP on the sight as best as possible, if that doesn’t free it up I would suggest returning the upper receiver before you try disassembling it. I’m not sure how M1 sales would view your disassembling it first, then trying to exchange it.

Don't use any tools on it (yet), but try hard to turn the elevation wheel both ways. If this doesn't free it, take a brass drift or piece of wood dowel and a small hammer and lightly tap on the top and bottom of the wheel where you can get to it on both sides of the receiver. Try to turn it again. If none of this works, I'd take it out and fix it rather than going through a return cycle.
