| Hey guys, went to the range today.Done a good bit of shooting with several different guns. When I was shooting my Stag AR15 which is flat top with a Yankee Hill flip-up removable rear sight.I was consitantly hitting high, about 3 inches.I have my front sight post as low as it will go.My ? is do I need a rear base or something for the rear sight to sit on making it slightly higher? If so what are my options and were can I find them. |

What they are trying to tell you is that if your rifle is shooting high you raise the front sight to bring it on target. Raising the front sight will lower the barrel. You lower the front sight if your rifle is shooting low. You use the reverse when moving the rear sights; raise the rear sight to raise the impact, lower it to bring the impact down. Same issues with moving from side to side. Front sight goes in the opposite direction from where you want the bullet to go while rear sight moves in the same direction as you want the bullet to go. |
