I spent over an hour looking through 5 pages of search results to no avail. 1) LMT carbine handguards: they are single heat shield but are they the M4 diameter or the old carbine diameter. Folks happy with them? 2) LMT barrel steel: Does anybody know what it is? I'm guessing it's 4150. 3) Does anybody have stron feelings about the LMT BUIS? Thanks for the help. Rainier has some for sale and I really don't want to keep posting questions in their thread w/o buying something yet. Safe shooting SamColt |

I have a Defender 2000 M4 14.5 by LMT and a LMT M4 14.5 Spare upper That replaced my A1 Bushmaster shorty upper! For a machineGun Barrel they are so ACCURATE I have a KAC RAS on the Defender 2000 M4 But on my spare LMT Upper I have the LMT M4 Hanguards cost close to 40 bucks They are single heat sheilds wich work FINE in SW FL HEAT I also Have CAV M4 HG that are alot Cheaper and are well made I think! They are sitting in my Tool Box Hint BTW I use arms 40 BUIS (KISS) all I had to do is just install my LMT M4 didnt need any Left or right adjustments LMT are good BUIS BUT I HATE A2 sights on a CARBINE or even a rifle |
LaRue does make a top notch BUIS, but I have to disagree with you on the LMT. I use PRI Gasbusters, and I have not had problems accessing my charging handle using the LMT BUIS. It has too many dials? It's a standard A2 sight. |
I don't like A2 sights. I've had dials spin on me. Now, if I was inclined to use the dials I would mark them up with white out or similar so I could easily check my zero. But I never use the dials for range, so its simply not worth it. With a standard charging handle (switching to PRI when I get some paychecks again) the bigass screw makes manipulation harder for me. The LMT is built like a tank, and I am sure it works great for lots of people. But when I can buy a LaRue for less money and it has none of the problems I have found using the LMT sight, its an easy choice. YMMV. |
