can u put a 308 upper on a standerd 223 lower? i didnt know if the mag well is different. thanks lee

Nope. You are correct in that the .223 magwell is too small for the .308 round.

Depends. If your asking 308 as in a 30 caliber cartridge, then yes in several configurations like the 30 carbine, 7.62X39, 300 Whisper, etc. If your asking about the 308 Winchester cartridge, then no. It's too long.
