I'm looking for a trigger for my AR setup for varmint hunting.  That is the rifles only purpose.  I want a light/crisp trigger.  Yeah, just like everyone else  I'm shooting 40gr v-max at 300+ yds.  The rifle is capable of sub-minute groups, even with a factory trigger and lightened springs.  I'm considering a 2 lb adjustable Jard single-stage or a 3 1/2 lb RRA two-stage  tuned by John Holliger.  I can't see a Geissel being worth the extra cash for my purposes.  Opinions?

I have to say I love my JP single stage with their speed hammer. The pull I achived was 3.2 lbs and its very crisp. I cant say anything bad about the others since I have only tried the RRA 2 stage besides my JP, it was nice also. But I just prefer the single stage when Im coyote hunting sometimes the action can be verry fast and the 2 stage just dont cut it.

I've got a Jewell on my precision ar and I like it a lot. However, there are some other triggers I would like to try.

You can't go wrong with a Jewell, but I would try out as many as you can before shelling out 150-200 bucks on one.

I have a JP Trigger/Speed Hammer in my Bushy Varminter. It s breaking at 2.25lbs according to my RCBS Trigger Pull Gauge/Fish Weight Scale, I have it set up with almost no take-up or over travel, but it is a little light for the Mil-Surp stuff.

I have another JP Trigger/Speed Hammer in my Bushy IPSC Carbine that is breaking at 2.75 lbs on the same scale and a Jewell breaking at 4.5 lbs in my Service Rifle.

The JP Set in the IPSC is about 6 years old and has been in two different lowers, a Colt and the Bushy. It has been 100% with anything stuffed in the chamber and has seen maybe 5 or 6 thousand rounds.

The Jewell is also very nice and a lot easier to adjust. I find the JP's to be great for what you're doing with it.

Good Luck

Any experiences with the Jard?  From what I've read, it's the only one that will let me achieve a 2 lb trigger pull.  How'd you achieve 2.25 lb on a JP?  Also, the Jard is quite a bit cheaper than the JP and hammer.

I have a Rock River single stage match trigger on mine. The pull is a crisp 4 1/2 pounds and now I want a lighter trigger since I have a varmint upper, about 2 1/2 pounds single stage would be good.

What I'd like is a simple non-adjustable single stage. I was thinking about a Jard non-adjustable single stage trigger, they have them in 2 pound and 3 pound. Has anyone tried their 2 pound? I keep thinking one that low would be problematic.  Should I go with a 3 pound to keep it safe?
Jard is about $125 and that's in my ball park.
