| Alright, I want to build a couple AR's but i don't have the $$ to build them up right now, would it be possible to buy a couple AR stripped Receivers and put them away for several years and build them up later, after an AWB. I hope it wouldn't come to that, but we all know it'll happen eventually. |
That's an impossible question to answer without a crystal ball. Who knows what, if anything, will ever get passed. You sure can't judge based on HB 1022. There is no way that or any other bill survives the process as written. That all being said, didn't the old ban stipulate that the rifle had to be BUILT to a pre-ban configuration PRIOR to the ban? Part laying in a box didn't cut it. Personally, the only way I think we'll see another military-style weapon ban is if there is a total ban on firearms of all kinds. |
Correct. IF another ban passed.... you would want to get an affidavit or something of the sort notarized that stated you owned the weapon, and it was built into a AW prior to the ban coming into effect. In any case - better to focus on writing your congressmen, and supporting the NRA with your membership, so this doesnt have to be an issue. |
