Which side do you mount your light and why?  I am a right handed shooter but it just seems easier to operate the light when it is on the same side of the weapon as I am.  I was just wondering if maybe most people didn't mount it on the same side they are shooting from for a reason.

I like it on the underside so I don't lay the weapon down on a light

I like my M951 on the same side of the weapon as me too

YA I don't like the weapon laying on the light either but then I would look stupid for buying quad rails wouldn't I

Left side.  I use a vertical grip and keep my thumb on the side of the left rail.  I don't have to change my normal grip, but just reach forward a little bit to hit the button.

Gonna mount mine on right side (3 o'clock) because I always set my rifles down on the left side and I dont wanna set it down on the light, or the case deflector/forward assist.

ETA: This is with a tapeswitch, btw.

Right side, left hand thumb activates tailcap on light in DD ofset mount.
Other carbine is on bottom rail, activate with knuckle.
Another carbine has Rico Alpha 9, so it's on the bottom rail

I thought about going with the DD mount but got the Vltor instead.  The only thing I don't like about the light being on the same side as me is I am afraid it could hinder my view in certain situations............not like Im going to get into those situations but you know what I mean.

I liked underside, but a X3-ha underneath is too long for a 14.5 with 12.0 rail. when pushed forward enuff so my hand won't hit it using the VFG the lens is protruding under the flash hider , so now it sits middle of the rail on the right side "yes it's  pain in the nuts to store like this and clean but it's better than blowing the lens off with muzzle blast"

I prefer it on the left(as viewed while holding the rifle) but my sling interferes w/ it so it on the right

underneath currently, but am moving my light to the right side to keep it from hanging up on my vest mounted equipment.  For patrol/general use I prefer it underneath.

Damn........I don't even think I tried it with my sling on.  Welp off to the bedroom I go.  I only have a single point sling so maybe it wont be that bad.

I mount on the left side of the rail.  I use a vertical grip and activate the light via the tail cap with my left hand thumb.

I also feel that having the light on the side allows me to rest my handguard over a barrier and still have the light shine out without being obscured.  Having the light on the left side also shields my figure with a bright light by centering the light more in front of my body.
