Im goint to put a rifle length handguard on my 16 in hbar and was wondering if I should stay with the car lenth gas tube or go longer?  Whats the difference in performance?  I need the gas tube to be short because Im going with the low pro gas block for that look.

Just leave it the way it is

You cant change your gas tube length.  Youd have to use a midlength barrel to use a midlength gas tube.  Your barrel is smaller in front of the gas block than it is AT the gas block in your carbine length rifle.
