Can someone provide a link that describes or even lists the QC testing that is done on civilian Colt ARs? I see a statement on the Colt military site that states "meets or exceeds all US military specifications for the weapon." but I don't see any such statement on the civilian site.

Thanks,

Colt's Military and LE models have high levels of QC, the civilian models are second-tier products that didn't meet Vulcan's QC standards so they're sold as repackaged Colts.

You don't see the same statement because it wouldn't be true.

Trick answer

To be fair, it is only "not true" because true military specifications are illegal for civilians to own (notwithstanding NFA, SOT rules)

But as for quality control measures and Colt rifles............

The LE rifles do meet or exceed military standards, with the exception of the so-called Class 3 elements

these would include but not be limited to:

MP testing
Use of specific metals
Barrel specifications
Bolt testing
Proof firings
Anodizing
Measures where they count (save pin sizes, but not pin quality)
.....and probably more

You would have to pull out the actual .mil specification sheets to list them all.

Thats nice but how does that apply to the civilian version of the Colt?

Not sure if you are itching for a confrontation here or are genuinely wondering, but the civilian version - the LE series - is all 56 pages of that spec sheet plus the amendment- except those components that relate to full-auto or burst firing.

I can't help but sense a punch line coming

I'm looking for a simple statement from the Colt website or their literature that states that they use the same qc process for their civilian models as their military models. I think that is a simple straight forward legitimate question since so many here take it as gospel. I tried without success to find this infomation myself before I posted this question.

Wonder why it does not list the 6920 as having a chromed barrel?
Is that a rifle length buffer shown with a collaspable stock in the pictures?

As the exclusive supplier of the M4 Carbine to US military forces, the versatile M4 is built to strict US Government specifications.  Furthermore, all of our rifles and carbines are built in our ISO 9001:2000 registered facility with the same high quality and reliability standards.

Obviously the semiautos don't go through cyclic rate testing that the USGI weapons do.  So there are some differences in regards to semiautomatics.
