I am left handed, so the regular selector rubs the top of my trigger finger around near the bottom knuckle. I now they make ambi-selectors, but is there one that is cut short, so that when I have it set to "Fire" that it will not rub my hand raw? It isn't a huge deal, but would like to shoot a little more comfortably. Thanks! |

As far as I know, you can get a right-handed selector (like the one that comes on most AR's) or an ambi one like the one you have. You cannot switch the right-handed selector to the left side as the grooves on the selector that operate the safety will not line up. Stag has the ambi selector. You can probably also get it from Brownells or Midway USA. I tried the ambi selector and hated it. My right index finger bumped into it every time I handled the weapon. I went back to the stock selector (right hand only). I agree that you can get what you want by using Mr. Dremel Tool. Just whack off the arm on the selector on the right side. You can grind the selector as flat as you want, but having a knob protruding to grab would be nice as well. Good luck mate. |

www.jprifles.com/1.4.8.1.php JP lists one where you can swap the lever from one side to the other. It is about 3/4 way down the page. The standard ambi selector used to bug me but I guess I have gotten used to it over the years. |
$40 for a piece that's going to look like hell on the unused side? Not at my house. $22 for a DPMS piece, w/the left side filed or ground down and looks like an AR15 piece, and not some idiots idea of what the lever should look like, feels like a whole lot better idea to me. |
Oh yeah, backyard engineered with an angle grinder looks so much better.
