Are bolts and bolt carrier interchangeable? I have been having bad luck with my new purchased BM Carbine. The book that came with the Carbine recommends against using any other bolt than the BM. If it is O.K. to use another bolt, extractor, etc. what do you all recommend?

Woops, another question. On another forum, they are claiming that the extractor that comes with a standard bolt from BM, is not up to sutff. They are suggesting to change over to a black insert, instead of the blue one that comes as standard on the BM. I cannot find any info about this on ARCom. What do you think?

Thanks in advance.....

As far as the bolt goes, espescially very used bolts, just check the headspacing befor replacing and you should be fine.

The extractor spring bushing can be changed out from the Bushmaster blue to the black (Colt?) if you experienced extraction problems or double feeds. In my case I simply placed a small O-ring from Home depot over the extractor spring. This doesnt need to be done unless you're experiencing these type of problems.
