Hi there. from missouri as well.

I didn't get a pre built DPMS rifle. but i ordered a parts kit with DPMS parts and built it on a DPMS lower. I think its just as good as the other brands fit and finish wise.

I have a older pre-ban 16" A-2 upper that has never had any problems. I have it on a RRA lower and the thing digests anything I cycle through it. Mine is a 1/9 .223 barrel. I stick to 55gr. ammo. It holds around 1.5-2in. groups at 100yds.

I am very pleased with my DPMS. If I were to buy another AR, it would be DPMS.

My DPMS w/ 16" A2 is awesome. Accurate and eats all ammo. Great AR for the money compared to BM, Stag, RRA, and Armalite. Would not hesitate to wn another.

I have a DPMS M4gery that's been a work in progress for a little over a yr.&a half. No matter what I do to it, add to it, or bolt onto it, it has yet to stutter even the least bit.
Best of all? It's almost finished Pics of the final product, coming soon!

Got my DPMS about 3 weeks ago.  One thing I wish I would have gotten now over the standard AP4 that it started out as is the 14.5" barrel with an extended A2 flash supressor.  Havent got to shoot it yet, but from the reviews I have read is that it is a good rifle.  Was actually looking for either a RRA or ans M&P15.  But the price on this was too good.  Got mine for 875 out the door.

One thing about DPMS that I am not real happy about is they are really slow on shipping.  When I placed the order (Weds before thanksgiving), was told it would ship out on the following Friday.  Expected it on Tues.  Nope... checked back at the fun store all week...  still no rifle.  Called the following Monday.  It will ship Early next week was told that time... Checked back again... Still no rifle.  I called again...  Was toldit would be as much as 2 weeks before it even shipped.  I explained to the rep that I had completed my NICS check at the time I ordered it and that it would expire out in 30 days from that date...  If they couldnt ship that day, I was cancelling the order.  I had it 2 days later.  Then I ordered some misc items (handguard tool, delrin punch, etc) off the website... didnt see anything from that order for at least 2 weeks.  I just placed another order with them on Friday.  Was told it would ship out Monday of this week...  I'll let you know when I see it!

I have the AP4 carbine and love it. Reliable and extremely accurate. I have the 1/9 non-lined barrel.

I really like my AP4! I have shot over 1200+ rounds through it and it has ran like a champ. DPMS makes a great rifle! Don't hesitate to buy from them. It was my first ar purchase and it was a wise one. Great prices for great rifles!

Do their lowers come highlighted like that, or is that something you did later?  It looks real good.

I did the lettering color myself.  Got info from here though.  Below are several links I used for reference.

I have messed around with that a little bit and so far, Crayola Crayons have been the easiest to work with.  I used alcohol to clean the areas that I wanted to color, then taped off the lettering.  Rub the crayon into the grooves adding pressure to fill in the grooves really well.  Wipe the excess off with more alcohol very lightly.  Once I have the cleanup complete, I hit it with a hair dryer in order to get the wax to flow a little better into the crevices.

Hope that helps!
