It's probably locktited in,I know mine was on my bushy. What I did was use a gunsmith screwdriver set, got the biggest tip that would fit, put a rag around the handle and put some ass into it.

You mean the screw in the back that goes into the buffer tube?

Go to home depot or whatever and get a stubby flat-head screwdriver.  The handle will be full-size, with the other part being real short/stubby.  Get the wide-tip one.

With muzzle down, rifle clamped between your legs, put your weight on the screwdriver as you turn it.

If you've done all this already, I dunno then.   Nuke from orbit maybe?  Kill it with fire?

It might have lock tight on it if it was a mil-spec screw. Try using some heat.

if it's locktite...you need to use heat.

1.) soldering iron...place it on the bolt for a minute and then try using the screwdriver (the wider the head the better)

2.) hair dryer

3.) heat screwdriver with open flame and then place on bolt for a minute or so...this will take longer because the bolt is long

If it is slipping you have the wrong size screwdriver.

Here is how I remove them.

Tools needed: CORRECT size screwdriver that has a square shaped shaft versus round. Wrench to fit shaft.

Use your legs as a clamp, use the palm of your hand and put your weight into the screwdriver and use the wrench on the square part of the screwdriver shaft and break it loose.

if you have to, take a bench/disc grinder and cutomize the screw driver to work... if you stip the screw you're screwed... then you'de have to drill it out or use one of those screw-out/damaged screw extractor bits.
