So i have about 3,500 rounds thru my bushmaster
what should i be looking at to replace
so far the gun has been very reliable

things i think will need replacing soon (just from what i've read):
extractor spring, plan to get a wolff spring
gas rings ( gas ring are still good as of now)

things i'm not sure about, when to replace:
firing pin
cam pin
bolt
buffer spring
ejector spring

anything else i should be keeping an eye on ?

when you take apart your gun to clean it just look over all the parts and you'll be able to tell if they are ok or not.  Just make sure you really look at them so you don't miss something like a small crack.  The springs you really can't tell by just looking but the extractor spring you will be able to tell just from shooting, I wouldn't worry about the buffer spring for a while longer.  At 3,500 rounds I wouldn't worry about replacing anything big unless you didn't take good care of it.  But like you said look at the gas rings and the extractor spring.

from your list:
If your firing pin is rounded at the tip you might want to replace that.  Ckeck the cam pin for excess wear or cracks, bolt should be perfectly fine but look for hair line cracks or excessive wear and the buffer spring should be fine

I have over 10k through My trusty Clot R6500 & it still has all the springs, firing pin & gas rings it came with!

YMMV

I have 20k through my BM carbine. only had to replace my extractor/spring at 10k. everything else passed inspection.

3,500?! You've barely broken in the barrel! I would only give it a thorough checkup at around 12,000.

Check the trigger guard!  You might need the Magpul enhanced version!

Uh, Ol' Crew Chief, do you think you'll eventually need an angioplasty and stent for that "Clot"?

The firing pin should have a rounded tip, but you might want to check it for
erosion.

I don't think you should do anything to it, other than maybe replace the extractor spring with the Wolff.  Then keep on shooting!
