Picked this S&W M&P up about a week ago and finally got to take it out and break it in.
Sweeeeeeet, that says it all!
Still arguing with the sights and convinced this needs a scope on it. (or should I say cause of my eye sight I need a Scope on it!!!)
My little guy was doing better than me at 50 yards!!!!

Thanks!
He has only been shooting for about a month.  I feel it is very important to take the curiosity out of the guns I have in the house, even though everything is under 2 layers of safety.
After looking at the pics I noticed his trigger finger postion during sighting instructions, right where it is supposed to be!
Merry Christmas to you as well!

Nice job! I wish more parents were like you.

Now shorten up that stock for him so he can get a proper sight picture.

Outstanding! I can't wait until my son is old enough to shoot with me. My daughter seems to have an interest too. It seems like you have taught him the safety rules very well. Fun and safe, hard to beat.
I bet he had a heck of a time. He'll remember that day for the rest of his life. Good looking kid.

Awesome stuff for a first post, ARrick!!

I wish I had started shooting top shelf AR15's when I was his age.

(wait a minute.................. BRD starting at about age 10? ... Seriously, it would have been better off than spending my hard earned dollars on rifles, than the proverbial H & B )

Happy Holidays! and welcome aboard

it's a wonder you can even see the target with those welding glasses on, no wonder you can't hit.... and the boy is leaning the wrong way, if he was shooting a 410, it'd kick him on his ass.   ALL WRONG.     ................. just kidding. nice looking rifle, it's good to see a kid get into something besides video games.....    but seriously, get him to lean into the shot, he'll handle the recoil better and be much faster on follow up shots. easy to learn, young, hard to break old habits.   happy shooting..... i mean happy holidays.   p.s.   be sure and teach him how to bumpfire.

Thanks for the feedback!
I was going over the stance with him as well.  Your input is helpful!
While our outdoor range is great it does face west.  In the winter that dang sun is right there after about 1:00 pm.  The sights were really glaring hard, thats why I had my hand over the sights helping him find the front one.

Wow, that's awesome, dad of the year right there.  I remember when my dad used to take me out shooting when I was that age.  Now that he is old I take him out to the range.  Good times
