My .40 AR has the 4 POS CAR stock on it that I can't stand, well I have an extra RRA 6 POs stock laying around that I want to put on it. ..but since it's a .40 and not a .223 I need to know if I should use the buffer that came with the rifle or the one that came with the 6 POS stock that I'm putting on it.

The red tipped one (from the .40) is heavier than the other one if that matters.

Use the buffer from the .40 in any carbine length stock you put on that weapon.
