Looking for my first Ar-15.  I'm a Marine Vet and want the most faithful A2 out there that is not a crappy Colt...  I am leaning towards the Bushmaster A2 version and got a price with case, mags, sling, new for $875.  Any other suggestions out there based off of experience??  Love to hear positives/negatives--Thanks!!

Bushy is a good choice - when ordering it opt for the Govt Profile barrel if you really want one that is 'just like the militaries'.  Otherwise you'll get a civilian HBAR making the rifle a pound heavier and nose heavy.

I am by no means a Colt snob, and I like bushmasters, but you do have to special order the right barrel like Forest said. I have a Colt, er sporter II maybe? Anyway with the fixed A2 sights and government profile barrel, love that rifle.

Nothing wrong with a Bushhamster except it may be purple.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal and sounds like you have your mind pretty well made up. Let me give you a "Go for it!" just the same.

I love my HBAR bushy.  If the nose being heavy is a concern starting doing some curls.

I own two Bushmaster and they are fine weapons. BUT I recently bought a RRA A4 the fit, finish, accuracy, and customer service is the best I have personally experience.

You can not go wrong with RRA, check with Pete @ Legal transfer OR Chris @  Eagle firearms

Marine, you would feel right home with this one dealer cost 749.000

Make sure you specify "GOVERNMENT PROFILE" otherwise you are going to get a HBAR, and if you are anyting like me, HBAR's just dont feel right.

I love the Bushy 20" HBAR on my target rifle, but it dosent feel anything like a M16A2.

I am looking at building a A2 clone right now, but I will do it from parts.

An RRA A2 (not me, the rifle) might be a little cheaper.

I've heard they are now offering .gov profiled barrels too.

An HBAR isnt bad till you have to reload while keeping the rifle up and pointed at the threat.
THEN you will feel the weight.  I can deal with a 16" Hbar, but a 20" Hbar gets heavy fast if you're doing alot of standing shooting.
