John Holliger, Frank White and Derrick Martin (if he's back from Iraq), all make far better uppers, priced comparably to the big companies.

My service rifle upper was done by Compass Lake Engineering (aka CLE aka Frank White). I couldn't be happier with it.

Frankly, for out of the box and ready to compete, Derek Martin would be the first and ONLY phone call I'd make.
