If anything, this is a AR15.com appreciation thread.

How much extra money do you think you have spent due to finding some part/scope/thingy within this forum that you would not have found or heard of otherwise?

More importantly:
How much have you saved due to connections, good inside info or great reviews from AR15.com?

I wouldn't have heard of many brands or this billet thingy if it weren't for this site.

I see a new billet upper, new barrel, new rails... the list goes on and on of that which I will be buying due to this site.  No complaints here!

Rule #1 of ARF Club:

Never count how much you spent on AR's

The number will frighten most of us.

Rule #1 is important..

I started thinking about my retro build, I have over 1K in it, and need to spend $325 more to complete a rifle that I probably would be luck to sell for $650 after it's done.

I've easily bought 5 times as much AR stuff as I would have, had there never been a clinton gun ban.

I think you can save money buying from the good vendors on AR15 but that's probably countered by the fact you spend 10X as much on more equipment haha.

i will say....

....dare i do this....

i am just shy of about $5k (that's including ammo and mags)

its noobish compared to some...but then again i think about what 5 grand could have bought me....but after thinking about that....i decide t'hell with it and keep spending!

You're going to spend money on things one way or the other, I enjoy doing it on things I like.  Spending the same amount of money on, say, new brakes or punctured tire replacement, is just prosaic and seems like a waste  I sure don't get the same pleasure out of it.

I'm doing building an AR pistol from scratch (well, parts)

I'm upgrading my patrol rifle

I'm planning out my modifications to a Gov't 20" I'm getting into a SAM-R type.

I spent near that in building an M1 Garand.  I recently sold it for half of what I had invested.  Needless to say, that money is going into AR projects.

Depending* on what you spent that 2K on, I'd be proud of that rifle!

Just out of curiosity, Is a PDA attached to the stock?  I'm sure a compass is!

How about real magazines (pain in the ass to find real M-14 mags), an ARMS #18 scope mount and a bunch of TRW parts.

I could have gone into my local dealer and walked out with this baby if I'd never gotten into guns.

For those wanting the price, click HERE

And to think, I'm not even old enough to legally drink for another 6 months...

You can have one by using one of those guns at the local dealership....  but that's not advisable.
