My search didn't find an answer, so here is a question I'm sure has been answered before.  I'm looking at a RRA AR and the dealer suggested that the chrome lining is not really necessary unless I plan to shoot huge amounts of ammo thru it, or full auto.  Otherwise, it's not worht the added cost.  What is the general opinion on this one?  I'm not sure I can buy more than one of these, and want to make sure I do it right the first time.

try searching, "chrome"

anyways, i'd get the chrome lining--$50 is a cheap addage for twice the bbl life, easier cleaning, increased relaibliliy, and corrosion resitance

In my humble opinion, if you're not going stainless there's no reason not to go chrome.  I believe the weapon is easier to clean and a lot more corrosion resistant with chrome lining.  What's the upgrade cost like 30 bucks?

Stainless for precision rigs, chrome lined for all else.  What's not to like about chrome for everyday use?

Dealer probably had some non-chrome ones in stock and wanted to make an inventory sale.

Bingo.

This is another topic that stirs emotions. Anyway, pass the chrome Kool-Aid. I like my ARs chromed. The benefits outweigh the negatives IMHO. My ARs are fired more than any of my other guns so I see the chrome lining as a big plus.
