| Just bought my first AR - a pre ban Colt R6700. It's in great shape, but the previous owner removed the sear block and the sear block pin, so there is a hole on the right side of the lower. It is not a sear pin hole, as it is too big and is not aligned correctly. I've looked all over for replacement pins for this hole, and I can't seem to find any. What can I do (besides sending it somewhere to have it welded closed)? |

Short of welding, probably the best you can do is find a piece of aluminum rod of the right size, cut it to length, coat it with one of the Loctite bearing retaining compounds, and tap it in. Coat the end with Aluminum coloring liquid, and accept that it;ll always look a bit funky. But then so did the original steel pin that retained the sear block |
