I recently purchased a LMT bolt carrier group from Quantico Arms and I noticed that the bolt was silver in color.Looks like it has been chrome plated or something. The locking lugs has some of the material like chrome or paint that had flaked off. Just want to knowing if it is
indeed chrome plating and if it is normal as I have never seen a bolt like this one. If this is
normal, will this bolt be as durable as a non-chromed bolt. Thanks.

It's electroless nickel.

I don't have too many rounds through mine but it seems okay.  It is -much- easier to clean.

You must have bought the enhanced BCG from LMT.  How much did you pay?  If you paid more than $130, then it's probably the enhanced version.

Chrome bolts just make cleaning the bolt a little easier.

I'll just assume that you got an "Enhanced" bolt because those do come with some kind of a plating on them.
It's not chrome, it's something else.

I paid about 120 for the carrier group and no its not the enhanced carrier or
bolt group. Its just plain jane bolt and carrier, I was surprised when the bolt
was silver (light grey). Thought I got ripped off. So I guess its real LMT then.

Regular LMT bolt carrier groups that you get for around $125 will NOT have a chrome bolt.
The bolt and carrier should be parkerized.
Current LMT bolts are deeply engraved MP and will have an O-ring on the extractor spring.

The bolt carrier is parkerized and and has the proper staking
on the gas key. The bolt itself is not marked with MP, its just
a regular bolt, but with some type of grey finish on it, some type
of plating. The extractor spring seems like a normal spring and
has a black insert. Wonder if this is a quality bolt, and did LMT
ever sell bolts like the one I recieved. I give more info later.
Thanks

Someone in the EE was selling LMT uppers with bolts like that a few months ago.  I thought it was just a contracted out bolt and not LMT.  Can you please post a pic of the flaking hardchrome?

You mean besides the EN finish that makes it run smoother and makes it easier to clean?

I have one of those bolt I bought last year from Bravo Co., I believe that it's chrome finish.

LMT made a production mistake of a batch last year and said it will not offer them again in that finish.

It's a rare item and I'm saving it for my SPR build project.

Well, let's see...
Dual spring extractor
Sand cuts on lugs
Electroless nickel finish on the bolt
Radius at the lug root
Lug opposite the extractor is relieved to balance lug load evenly on 6 lugs instead of on 7 lugs
Carrier face has a step on it that seats against the extension instead of the whole carrier (not sure what this does)
Carrier has an extra vent hole.
Carrier has a re-located firing pin retainer pin.
