Is the ARFX stock  closer to A1 or A2 length? Thanx

Mine is almost exactly the same as A2

It depends on whether or not you attach the rubber buttpad.  Without the pad it is A1 length, with the pad it is rouhgly A2 length.

Damn, you are correct. Didn't even think about the pad on mine.

My first one came with two pads. One is about ½", the other is 1" (the 1" one is actually about 1 1/8"). Since the difference is almost exactly 5/8", I've always assumed Ace's idea was to mimic either A-1 or A-2 length stocks, depending on which pad is mounted...

My idea is to go with an A1 length as we already have a 20" set up with a Cav Arms A1 stock and the wife and kids have no problem with that. That stock is a bit chintzy but works fine. Just looking for something with a bit more character. Loathe to use the word "bling" and my rifle in the same sentence.

The larger pad makes it longer than A2.  The large pad on the shorter ARFX-E makes it about the length of the Sully stock.

Portagee, you may want to look at that combination if your wife and kids are using it.  It's an inch, maybe an inch and a half shorter than an A1.

I'm completely hooked on ARFX-E's with the fat pads, it's absolutely my favorite configuration.

I don't KNOW if they're the strongest stock ever made, but they're definitely up there. You could do chin-ups with the things all day long and not bend/break them (of course, I doubt if it'd do the receiver any good). I've got 'em on several rifles.

Thanks to all. This HBAR upper will most likely end up with a scope (6x20) so I'm thinking that I'll try a M4 stock on it and figure out how short I can go and still get eye relief / mounting position I want nad then order away. Appreciate everyones time.
