Anyone remember off the top of their head?  And is it in foot pounds or inch pounds?  Thanks!

My  (Colt Canada) manual states:

-When using the peel washer 46-51 ft. lbs.

-Crush Washer, tighten untill contact, then continue untill slot alignment is reached.

ETA: My Army -23 states  15-20 ft lbs for the install utilizing the peel washer. I personally use German torque i.e. "Gut n' tight".

25ft-lbs for the Phantom and a GI lockwasher.  40-50ft-lbs sounds a little high to me???

For the A2 with crush washer, tighten till she lines up right.

Have you ever installed a barrel? If you use a torque wrench and go by the book you will need that large range!

No sir!!!  I believe you, just never had to put one on that tight before, but then again, never have I used a torque wrench with a crush washer.  Only with lockwashers and peel washers, in which case 25-30 is all I put on them.

30ftlbs

once you get past 45+ftlbs accuracy starts to be effected. sometimes you need that much to time correctly though
