I'm trying to do this from my shoulder... first of all, I know its pretty much a waste of ammo, blah blah blah, etc etc etc, I'm in a safe place, I know I can control it because I've shot an M-16 plenty enough... Now... I'm trying this from my shoulder today. I got a three round burst was about the most I could acomplish and I could only get it once. Every time after that I got a light hammer strike on the 2nd round. I know its kinda like limp wristing a pistol, and I don't think its the ammo. (fired the next time I tried it). It was kinda hot at this point, so I don't know if this could have been it or not. The rifle works perfectly when fired in a normal slow fire (and rapid non bumping). archive.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=275003&page=2 My inspiration from that thread ^^^ Any help appreciated. ETA: Guat surplus 5.56 from AIM is the ammo |
| i am not an expert, but i did some bumping the other day. I think the trigger makes a big difference. My RRA Match trigger bump fires so easy its almost scary. If you pull forward too hard, you will catch the disconector and it will stop as its supposed to in semi-auto firing. if you pull too light, well its jsut not gonna work the trigger. Its that fine line of tension. |

I have an Olympic Arms M4gery that I can bump from the shoulder. The trigger is factory but is pretty lite as far as factory triggers go.... I think it is more of the technique than anything as I'm able to bump off 30 rounds at a time and some of my friends can't hardly get 3 rounds off with my rifle! Keep trying..... - Clint |
Its a pretty new rifle and the trigger is very tight and crisp... but it is a little heavy. I'm thinking that might be my problem. |
