| Looking to get a railed hand guard and trying to decide if i should go free float or just a normal 2 peice? Either way its gonna have to be a 2 peice (because jersey sucks and i have to have a permanant compensator on my barrel) so im kinda limited on the free floats. Is a free float really worth it and what is the nicest 2 peice free float ? |
It depends. What lenth barrel you have type of shooting Etc. I have the railed FF from Larue and DD Both to Help releave barrel stress But also to mount Verious extra(very expensive extras ) Such as lights Front grips etc. Most help with barrel ventalation. Also allow a wider array of sight options. The two pice type you might look into are Troy and Samson. MI also I think make one similar. If you have a flattop rec. It gives you Monlitic type platform. |

I just put a set of Surfire rails on my new Bushy M4. I went with the two peice for ease of installation. It took about 5 minutes. The only thing I'll ever put on them is a verical foregrip and maybe a flaslight, but now I'm to poor to afford a good flashlight. |
Have that same setup on my M4gery and not a single problem with it so far.I realy like the Vltor mount, specialy for the price, you can`t realy go wrong. |

Well if you have to go 2 piece, there is nothing wrong with that. Vltor, GG&G, Surefire, Troy, and Yankee Hill all make good quality 2-piece handguards for AR15's. If I had to pick one to go with I would get the Surefire or Troy. Both are a little pricey, but good quality product. You can get both from J&T Distributing. |
