I'm not selling either one because I need money, it's that I don't need (don't freak out) both of them, just one. I have shot them both, and like them both. They shoot equally well, the carbine does not have any more recoil than the middy. Why does everyone say the Y-comp sucks so bad? I like the Knight's rails on it, would have to add something to the middy so I could put a light on it if that's the one I keep. |
| Middy upper. Honestly, I have always been opposed to AK stuff on ARs, or AR stuff on an AK. So that being said, I think a 74 comp on an AR is a bit odd. However, these are issues of form, and I suppose this ought to be second to function.....sure the 74 comp does work well. |

The Bushmaster of course, because of the stuff it has going for it: - Fluted Barrel - Knight's RAS system - Trijicon front sight Slap an A2 flash supressor on there and you've got a good thing going. The midlength...well...it looks better in my book but that's about it.
|
Longer forearm meaning more hand placement area and/or more rail space. Softer recoil impulse. Increased odds of reliability. Longer iron sight radius. Less exposed barrel. Longer barrel for more bullet velocity. All the above and its normally only about .5" longer overall than a 14.5 with a permanantly attached brake/FS. |

AK brakes blow, fluting is weird-looking on a carbine, and mid-length is much better overall for about every reason you can think of. No choice for me - RRA should be saved, hands down. ETA: No, nevermind - sell both and get an AMEETECH middy upper. They're gov't profiled (skinny under handguards) and have the same kind of lifetime warranty that the RRA has. |
|
I would Keep the Mid length RRA. +1 for the A2 FH over the AK brake +1 because I prefer the mid length +1 because I think fluting should be for the longer bull barrels, and not a carbine. Go ahead and get a rail system for the mid if you want it customized to add a light or VFG, or you could just get a bolt on weaver rail for a light underneath. We all have our opinions, Thanks for listening to mine.... |

Saw an M&P 15T in the gun store today - those railed mid-length handguards look totally righteous. Someone please trade my railed carbine for your railed midlength. WTT: Railed Carbine for Railed Midlength |
Yeah. I will never shoot a CAR again so long as I can shoot a middy |
