I've read here and there that the M16 bolt is a better option since it's heavier. Would someone elaborate on this please? Also, where can I get one?

I have a Colt Match Competition w/20 in Krieger barrel. It's pretty heavy, but want to put a bit more weight to the rear. May wind up with a stock weight also.

Will start to design an aluminum adjustable butt plate this weekend. Will take several weeks to come up with something.

People are actually talking about the BOLT CARRIER.  The bolt is the same.  You can get one in the E.E.

Or from someone like BRAVOCOMPANY.com

Personally I think the notion that it's any more reliable is nonsense.  I just prefer the shroud around the firing pin collar.

Yeah, that just about covers it for me, too.  That said, some of the newer AR15 carriers have the same shroud.

Last CMT BCG I purchased had the shrouded collar on the standard AR15 carrier.

YMMV, but as I have a similar preference for the "shroud" as the guys above, fact is I want no-one claiming I have any M16 parts in my rifles, (legal or not aside).

I would recommend LMT item # L7A3 standard S/A BCG which I have, it's a semi-auto bolt carrier with the shroud around the firing pin collar.

They got a properly staked carrier key screws.

These LMT BCG are available at the Equipment Exchange section of this site, sellers like Bravo Company, Global Tactical and others usually have them.
