If I understand the OP correctly, he has the chance to purchase a new "no ban" configured BFI 20" A3 rifle for $700. If he wanted to re-configure his M4 to a 20" A3 rifle, he'd be looking at around $400-$500+ for the complete upper alone, minus the carry handle. I think that price range covers new as well as used. He could just use the carry handle off his M4 if it's a flat top. But he'd still be short a complete buttstock assembly which would run $50-$80 for a quality one. Doing the math, he'd be ahead of the game to just purchase the complete weapon for $700. So in fact, he'd be adhering to AR15.com law as he'd be applying the principal rule of "get both". $700 for a 20" BFI A3... If it comes complete with the carry handle rvn6869, I'd suggest you get it if you have use for it as that's a smoking deal IMHO. Sly ETA: I have two BFI 20" A3 HBARs myself. Paid a good deal more for each of them than $700, and that's considering that I didn't have use for the 1st one. My objection is the HBAR barrel but I'm not minding them hogging a little room in the safe. I'd imagine once I get out on the prairie dogs this summer with the HBAR scoped up, I'll remember why I was interested in getting them...
