Going thru a book on AR15 i saw something about Colt Sport AR15 offered in 222 caliber. Wazzup with this? is it somekind of Ban thing?

I am pretty sure the .222 remington was what was originally going to be chambered in the AR-15, but it didn't meet the velocity requirments, so the new, faster cartridge was named thhe .223 remington. I'd imagine there are some .222 AR's out there.

.222 AR's for nations that don't allow their civilians to own military caliber firearms.

They made a few for US sales too but they are pricey!
