I am going to deploy with the guard soon and the one thing I have always been taught is that a weapon is useless without a light. So I want a surefire dedicated foreend for my rifle. My question is do all M16A2's have round handguard caps or triangular handguard caps or will some take both as I have heard? Also if by the grace of god we get M16A4's which type of handguard cap do they take? The M510A is the one for the round cap and the M511A is for the triangle cap and I do not believe there is much difference if any in price.
Thanks

For a rifle length HG (like the M16A2 and M16A4) it should have a triangle HG cap.

I haven't seen any 20" barrels with round HG caps from the factory (that includes M16, M16A1, and M16A2 uppers that I've had).

Hope this helps,

I appriciate it.
I thought they were all triangular but I wasnt sure why they would make 20" handguards with a circular cap.
Thanks

All rifle length (20") barrels have triangular handguard caps.
