I knew this new company that purchased Bushmaster would screw things up. I bought my carbine  about 6 months ago for $800 and now the MSRP is $1200 for the exact same rifle. When did the new prices take effect?

Tx, I do not believe your Bushmaster had a MSRP of $800 6 months ago

What the BM MSRP is, and what someone pays for one, are two different things

Buying direct from Bushmaster will cost you at least $200 and usually more.

But the new owners may well have started jacking up pricing. If they have I hope they do something measurable to warrant it

Maybe the posted MSRP on the website wasn't $800 6 months ago, but it wasn't $1230 either. I agree, hopefully they are doing something different to warrant it.

Lost track of time too, it was 9 months ago. I wasn't even in the states 6 months ago.

BFI has been jacking up prices substantially in the last few years, perhaps to increase margins in preparation for the sale.  The only things they sell which are reasonably priced anymore are their barrels.

wether their msrp is raising or not i have been noticing a great decrease in actual in store prices.
