are you talking the little 1/16 setscre that you adjust teh 8/3 setting with? that has nothing to do woth taking the rear sight off. knock out the roll pin that goes through the side of the receiver first. this corresponds to a slot milled in teh Rear Sight base that keeps ya from screwing it out. with the pin out you can then scre teh elevation wheel up and the base will come out. with it out you might have some crude inteh allen head that is keeping the allen wrench from fully seating. if it is stripped seperate the 2 peices. they should come right of. with it seperated the nipple of the allen screw will be exposed. take a pair of vise grips and turn it back up. it has to go out the way it would as if you were using a wrench cause it is not threaded all the way through. i hope i made some kind of sense.
