I'd give him $1,200 tops if his description is accurate. I've bought several SP1's lately, some w/older serial numbers and like new for a G

Heck , i would go $1500 - 1600 If i could spare it

People are paying $1200 for New Colts to shoot.

They are buying plain jane M4 types for $1000

If It's really in the condition described , it has TRUE Collector Value.

You obviously don't place much value on History

No, Thats just what I can buy them for. They only made a kajillion of them and they are available. With the box and correct mags.  i do have a network going so I seee more of them than most and I do think (hope) they are a good investment..

I do place value on history but also on money.........

I don't deserve such a rifle, as I'd immediately take it out and shoot it.

Considering over 100,000 SP1s were made, I wouldnt exactly call them "collectors items."

How can it be LNIB and the tampon never removed?

He is asking $2,250 and I have seen a NIB offered elsewhere (still is) for $1,995

So, I would imagine there is a purist collector who will pay near that

Although both are still available.

Yes sir, I think you've hit the ten ring on this one.

The idem will appeal to a relatively small percentage of the buying public, namely collectors.

The two sides of selling to a collector are one, they usually have deep pockets and two, they usually know the worth of the idem. I believe number two is going to be the hurdle the seller is going to have to clear on this deal. I think we'll see this idem up for aucton again.

What history?  That rifle has none.  It has not been anywhere, nor done anything.

My H&R M1 has a hell of a lot more history than that Colt, and it cost me 1/4 of what the seller is asking for a run of the mill commercial rifle.

It's been there since the 6th of March and he has zero bids.
