I am getting ready to build a basic 16" midlength CAR flat top and was planning on using a stag lower receiver.

I want to use a midlength 16" upper and I am most likely going to buy a complete upper for my first build. I noticed that stag does not offer mid length uppers.

If I get a RRA midlength upper will it color match and function with a stag lower?

I guess I could use a RRA lower but it seems the stag lower is just as good and I can get it for less money.

The company that makes Stag lowers also makes them for RRA.

I have heard that before, but will an RRA upper color match a Stag lower?

Mine didn't. The Stag upper was a dark shade of grey compared to the black RRA lower. Wasn't bad looking but not a 100% match either.

ETA: I am sorry, I had a RRA lower and Stag upper.

I do not think you will get a perfect color match 99% of the time even when using parts from the same manufacturer.  All depends on when they were produces and finished.  Colt is a good example of this.
