This project turned out better than expected.  I'm getting ready to start building some custom 6.8s and have built a few "proof of concept" carbines and rifles to help generate some ideas.  On this one, I wanted to see what a mid-length system with a rifle-length quadrail forearm and front flip sight/gas block would look like.  After I got it together, I decided to take it a step further and try a detailed, 4-color "mirageflage" pattern.

This is an armalite SOF-A M4 profile midlength that was in a ban config.  I removed the pinned muzzle break, fixed telestock, and fsb.  I threaded it and added the phantom.  I took a rifle-length YHM quadrail and cut out the section for the PRI flip-up gas block/front sight.  I rounded the edges from the cutout and cut a end-cap to fit the remaining space.  I added a Magpul 93B w/ strike plate and a YHM rear flip-up sight, Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard, and Magpul Panels.  I used Duracoat with the mirageflage templates - OD Green, Coyote Brown, Woodland Brown, and Flat Black.

Any feedback appreciated.

THAT is up there as the best, or very close to the best I've seen.  It actually blends with its environment, which is more than many camo jobs can say.

Hot shit dude! Mind if I ship you "my" rifle to paint?!

I have the Digital Camouflage vinyl patterns, but I'm always afraid I'll fuck it up... But man, you did an awesome job! Enjoy it!

Do you have any concerns with Duracoat on a barrel melting off?  I am considering Duracoat on a suppressor and everyone says it will melt.  Very cool camo job though.  Best digital camo I have seen.

Ya Know, I REALLY REALLY don't like the digital camo patterns. But that makes me want to do it to one of my rifles. That is an outstanding pattern. Really hides it well. KUDOS!!!

I assume you are talking about a camo rifle paint job, but I can't see a rifle anywhere.

That paint job is amazing.  Great job.

when i first saw some early pix of the Digital Camo, I thought they were down right disgusting.  However the more and more i see them, they are starting to grow on me.  That is a very nice rifle and nice camo job.
