Nice rifle...but I gotta ask, why the bipod mounted on the bayonet lug if you've got a free floating handguard?

You're not supposed to notice inconsistencies like that.   It's for the photo, hollywood style.

That is an M4, not a mid-length.  The term "mid-length" generally refers to the gas system.  The gas tube, handguards, and front sight post are 2" longer on a mid-length (as compared to a M4 or carbine)

This is a M4:

This is a 16" mid-length:

Compare the length of the handguards and the position of the front sight post on the barrel.  You'll notice that the mid-length's front sight post is closer to the muzzle and that the handguards are longer as well.

RRA upper and stock. This rifle is from the AWB days but works flawlessly so I never switched it out for a RRA lower.

Yours to me almost looks like a 14.5 already.  Seems like the bushmaster ones look longer.  I wonder why that is.  Hey, what kind of accuracy you get from that bad boy??????

Well, here's half an RRA.  The lower is with the 2 stage trigger.  This is my dad's set up.  He's stoked because we just got it together today. !!!!!!!

The upper is an ADCO built "recce" we bought around last christmas.

Why don't you just get the lower now and get the 14.5" afterwards? Unless you need two uppers, you can save the money and get the 14.5 faster.

well I don't think I will get a complete 14.5" upper from bushmaster, just the barrel. I'm an AR noob, but I'm preety sure I can put a 14.5" bushie barrel right into the RRA Entry Tactical, or else have someone do it for me. If I am wrong somehow about this, someone please let me know (I may know how to shoot/clean rifles, but am a virgin at working on them).

I just got a CMT  upper with a Bushmaster 14.5" barrel.  (CMT is the company that makes the uppers for RRA. )

I got it from PK Firearms and they did a good job on it including the phantom FH.  If interested, do a search for them. They don't have it on their webpage so you'll have to call them. When I called they had a few 1/9 barrels and a bunch of 1/7 barrels.

I also got the RRA bolt/bolt carrier and charging handle from them and I have a  RRA lower on the way for it.

It's engraved. I got it from Tom Sawyer Mfg. His username here on AR15.com is likemopar.

I've now moved that lower receiver over to my new 9mm build:
