[ARCHIVED THREAD] - question about upper receiver

I shot my bushy today, and as i was cleaning it i noticed a lateral gouge inside the upper reciever. the gouge is just behind the cresent cut out on the inside. this is not the normal wear mark, but an indention in the actual upper. its got me a little worried. anyone ever see this before?

It happens.

Two of mine aren't too bad, another one is a little deeper, and another is down to bare aluminum and scratched bare back about 2 inches.

the gouge is just under that sliver streak, is that normal?

mine has wear on it as well, some actually have worn where the carrier rides or rubs against the upper

it happens since it is a weapon and meant to be used..

Here's what my worst one looks like. The bare aluminum actually stretches the entire length of the carrier's travel.
