Hello guys,

First of all, I would love to thank you all for your wonderful help and to the mods for creating such a great environment.  I am new to the world of AR-15's but I have been lurking on the board for about a year.  I finally decided to take the plunge and got myself a RRA stripped lower.  I have done a search and I am wondering about the finish on my lower.  I have been looking at the pictures posted on this site and the finish on my lower is nothing like the pictures.   My RRA lower looks like it was spray painted with a flat black paint, it is not as "sharp" as I have been seeing in some pictures.  Is this normal?  I have a RRA LPK and a stripped RRA upper coming and I sure hope they match.

Again thank you for all of the help, and hours of useful reading! I cant wait to get my gun together and get out and put some rounds down range.

I appreciate the fast help!!!  This is really a great board.  I am on a few for different hobbies and this is by far the most helpful/educational.  I will give the CLP a try!  Thanks again,

I ordered my upper and lower from two different dealers here on the forums.  When i got them they matched up perfectly.

Hope that might alleviate some concerns.

I have a couple RRA lower and uppers. All look great and match up nicely. RRA makes good stuff.

I have never had any trouble with RRA stuff matching.

I second that.

Thanks for the added replies gentlemen.  I am not really worried about it matching, I would hope that all of RRA's components would match up.  I guess my lower looks "flat" and everything I see pictures of looks shinier/smoother.  I guess I will just have to see when I get my upper in the mail.  Perhaps its a trick on the eyes?  I will hopefully find out tomorrow when my upper arrives.  Thanks again,

Jamin

Use a light coat of CLP or Gun oil and wipe the excess off with a black T-shirt or rag. Then followup with a silicone cloth. It gives it that smooth look you're talking about. You can find the silicone cloth at your local wal-mart.
